No matter how much you strengthen the wire, it can still be bent by a powerful opponent. So, what if we created a structure that dissipates the force instead…? That was the idea behind Whiplash Factory’s “Noise Addict Rinoceras.” After much trial and error and testing against powerful fish, we established a style that increases wire strength while dissipating force by connecting the hook and wire with a split ring, and compensating for hook wobble with a silicone tube. While it doesn’t quite live up to its initial name, “NAUNCRASHABLE,” the result is a buzzbait that is less prone to being crushed. This method of connecting the hook and wire also has the added benefits of allowing hook replacement to suit different uses and targets, and because it’s movable, it’s less likely for fish to escape. This should expand the possibilities of buzzbaits even further.
